Pastoral Care

Integral to upholding the dignity and uniqueness of each individual and recognising that all people have a right to be treated with respect, consideration and compassion Calvary Rehabilitation Hospital provides a pastoral care service delivered by chaplains and other visiting pastoral workers.  

Pastoral care hopes to:

• Provide a ministry of human support, comfort, guidance and/or prayer to all patients regardless of religious belief
• To assist you to draw upon the strengths of your spiritual resources
• To listen respectfully to your personal story and reflect upon the meaning of life experiences
• To contact your own parish, pastor, rabbi or spiritual caregiver at your request
• To facilitate your celebration of the sacraments and rituals of your own faith tradition
• To provide spiritual/emotional support in times of crisis
• Serve as a resource for ethical decision making and to assist in the search for inner peace

Chapel
A chapel is located in north ward between Rooms 8 and 9. It is available at all times and it is hoped that whoever uses our chapel will find a place of stillness for sacred reflection, quiet time or prayer.   The notice board outside the chapel will inform you when any services are to be held. 

Chapel guidelines:

• It is a place for stillness and quietness 
• Patients, staff or visitors can use the chapel
• As it is a sacred space, all due respect of such a place is requested
• Please do not take food or drinks into the chapel
