Occupational Therapy
Patients attending Calvary Rehabilitation Hospital will receive occupational therapy to maximise their level of independence and safety in the completion of activities of daily living. Patients will be taught coping strategies to manage activities of daily living. These may include energy conservation techniques, self-monitoring, falls prevention, stress management & relaxation, work hardening and individualised treatment interventions relevant to your condition.
Occupational therapy services are provided to both inpatients and day patients. These are delivered in various formats including individual treatment sessions and groups.
Occupational therapy patient education and treatment groups include:
- Cardiac education groups:
- Self monitoring
- Return to activities of daily living
- Stress management
- Energy conservation
- Breakfast group/morning tea group
- Falls prevention education
- Upper limb group
- Reconditioning group
