Day Patient Programs
These programs are funded either through your hospital cover or by patients who self fund to pay the costs associated with the program. These programs are for people requiring a greater level of medical treatment and the program requires the referral of a medical rehabilitation specialist at Calvary Rehabilitation Hospital, who also co-ordinates the program. Other medical treatment is also likely to be provided by the patient’s general practitioner and possibly other medical specialists. People usually have to be referred for at least two allied health disciplines and sometimes there are a minimum number of hours of treatment per day you must require to be eligible for these programs. The duration of the program is usually for a fixed number of weeks which is specified at the commencement of the program. Patients who receive funding from their hospital cover for day patient programs may either have no out of pocket costs of they may have to pay an excess or co-payment. This will depend on your health insurance and you will be advised of any costs before commencing the program. Some examples of day patient programs include:- Cardiac rehabilitation
